Ember DocManager Privacy Policy

Effective September 2026. Version 1.0.
Ember Information Systems LLC, Oregon, United States. Contact: support@emberinformation.com.

1. Our promise

Ember DocManager is built on one idea: your data is yours. We do not sell it, we do not advertise against it, and we do not build profiles from it. This page explains what the app stores, where it lives, and what control you have. The short version is that everything stays on your device and none of it reaches us.

2. What the app stores

Everything you enter stays on your phone:

3. How the app uses it

The app uses what you enter only to show it back to you: your dashboard of what is expired or coming up, your document list, and your reminders. It does not send any of it anywhere. There is no server involved.

4. Sharing

We share nothing, because we receive nothing. Your data never leaves your device, so there is nothing for us to give to anyone. The only time your information leaves the app is if you choose to open or share a file yourself.

5. Keeping and deleting your data

We keep nothing, because nothing reaches us. Your data stays on your device and is kept or deleted entirely by you. Deleting a document removes its photos too; "Delete all data" in Settings, or uninstalling the app, permanently erases everything. There is no copy anywhere else to recover, so export or back up anything you want to keep first.

6. Your rights

Privacy laws give you rights over personal data a company holds about you. In this app those rights are already met by design, because we hold none of it:

If you have a question, write to support@emberinformation.com and we will reply within 30 days.

7. Security

There is no server to break into and no database of users to leak, because neither exists. The safety of your data is the safety of your device, so keep it locked with a screen lock or PIN, and be as careful with any file you export as you would with the original.

8. Local-first by design

Ember DocManager is built local-first. Your documents and their photos live on your device, not on a server we run. This is a deliberate design choice, not a slogan.

9. About the numbers and photos you store

The app lets you record identifying numbers (a passport number, a policy number, a membership ID) and attach a photo, scan or file of a document if you want it handy. All of this is optional, and anything you add stays only on this device. It is never uploaded or transmitted.

Because that information can be sensitive and lives only here, keeping this device secure is up to you. Turn on the optional PIN lock in Settings, use your device screen lock, and be careful with anything you export. Clearing the app's storage permanently erases your documents and their photos.

10. Children

You may keep documents that belong to other members of your household, including children. That information stays on your device under your control, exactly like everything else in the app. We never receive it. You decide what to record and when to delete it.

11. How you get this app

You can get Ember DocManager from an app store such as Google Play, and in the future you may be able to buy it directly from us. When you get it through a store, that store handles the purchase under its own terms, and we do not receive your name, email, or payment information from it. If you ever buy Ember DocManager or an add-on directly from Ember Information Systems LLC, for example through our own website, we collect the email address you give us and keep a record of the purchase so we can deliver it and support it. In that case payment is handled by our payment processor, Stripe, and we never see or store your card details. We do not use any of this to advertise to you or to build a profile.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and note what changed. Because the app holds no contact details for you, we cannot email you about changes, so check this page when a new version of the app ships.
